Tell us when you call, or write it in the form. It changes how the visit runs. We book more time so nothing gets rushed. We explain each step before it happens, not during. Numbing gel goes on before any injection, and nitrous oxide, the light laughing gas that takes the edge off, is there if you want it. We stop the moment you raise a hand, which is a real instruction, not a courtesy.
The first visit is an exam and a conversation. Nobody will talk you into treatment while you are still in the chair. You leave with a written plan and the costs on it, and you decide at home.

What to Expect
Your First Visit, Start to Finish
Before You Arrive
Bring your ID, your insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications you take. Arrive ten minutes early for paperwork, or ask us to email the forms so you can fill them in at home.
The Exam
Dr. Cojocaru checks each tooth, your gums, your bite, and your jaw, and screens for oral cancer. She takes full-mouth digital X-rays so she can see what an exam alone cannot: bone level, the roots, and decay between teeth.
The Cleaning
A hygienist removes plaque and tartar, polishes, and shows you the two or three spots your brushing keeps missing. If your gums show signs of periodontal disease, we will tell you and quote that treatment separately.
The Plan
You get a written treatment plan with costs beside each item, split into what you need now and what can wait. Take it home. We do not ask for a decision in the chair.
What It Costs
$99 for all of the above as a new patient. If you have insurance, we will file the claim for you, including out-of-network. If you do not, ask about CareCredit and payment plans.
How Long It Takes
Plan on about an hour. Longer if you have not been to a dentist in a while, and we will not rush that.

Our Technology
Digital X-Rays, Intraoral Scanning and Lasers
Digital X-rays. The image appears on the screen in seconds and Dr. Cojocaru turns the monitor toward you, so you are looking at the same picture she is. Digital sensors also cut radiation sharply compared with the film they replaced. The American Dental Association covers how dental X-rays work and how often you need them.
Intraoral scanner. A handheld wand builds a precise 3D model of your teeth in a few minutes, so there is no tray of putty and no gagging. It is what we use to plan Invisalign, crowns and veneers, and you see the scan on screen as it forms.
Intraoral camera. A pen-sized camera puts a close-up of the exact tooth on the monitor, so when we say a filling is cracking you are looking at the crack, not taking our word for it.
Laser gum therapy. For periodontal disease, a soft-tissue laser treats infected gum with less bleeding and less swelling afterward than cutting does. Most patients go back to work the same day.
Tooth-colored fillings. Composite bonds to the tooth and matches your shade, so a repair on a front tooth does not announce itself.
